On top of this you were contracted to design and construct a reception area and then reassemble the existing workstations.

The timing and flexibility was critical for the fact that we had to continue managing the business of Dispatch and Inventory of package lubricants for Western Canada throughout the transition. Due to your flexibility and accommodation to meet our needs, the job was completed on schedule with no customer impact and no complaints from those employees inconvenienced by the renovation.

I want to thank you for a job well done. The Alkim team finished our renovation project to complete satisfaction.

The project consisted of the removal of a couple of walls, adding and expanding existing offices, new plumbing, electrical and flooring.

Our equipment is extremely sensitive to dust and movement. With this in mind, Alkim still managed to complete the job on budget, and in fact ahead of schedule with very little disruption to our ongoing business.

The Alkim crew worked very well under our unique situation and remained courteous as well as keeping a neat and tidy work area at all times.

In the spring of 1986, I began to put my plans into action relative to creating the "best possible Child Care Facility in Alberta".

In so doing, I first secured a space to lease and secondly designed the plans for the interior of this facility. I then contacted numerous contractors to speak to them about price, quality, timing etc. My husband and I knew almost the first time we spoke to Alfred Dohmann from ALKIM INTERIOR CONTRACTORS LTD. that this was the company who would help us begin our "dream".

Although their quotation was anything but the lowest we received, somehow Alfred instilled a confidence in us that he would deliver exactly what he promised and that we could "count on him".

Well we gambled on this decision and have never regretted that decision. During the first two or three years I had one or two things that I needed to call Alfred for, probably items or matters that Alfred’s company owed us no warranty or follow up on, but never once did Alfred say no or give me the feeling I was bothering him. In fact quite the contrary he immediately set out to help me solve whatever the minor concern was.

It’s now six years since Alfred constructed the interior of TENDER HEART CHILD CARE CENTER LTD. and still today we are proud of the job he and his employees or sub-contractors did for us.

We are writing this letter to thank you for a “job well done” as the general contractor for the renovation of the house we purchased for our disabled son. From the beginning, we felt this was a partnership. The give and take of suggestions and ideas and the open communication between us was maintained throughout the project. You really listened to our thoughts and ideas and incorporated them appropriately. We particularly appreciated your ideas. Your experience with handicapped housing and code requirements and your sensitivity towards the disabled led to several innovative approaches during the renovation. The cove flooring, baseboards and staircase are particularly impressive.

The budgetary process was clear every step of the way. Each aspect of the renovation was clearly budgeted and changes, additions and deletions were discussed up front. Although we went over budget, each addition added to the functionality and safety of the house. We agreed to all additional work and at no time did we feel left out of or surprised by the monetary results. Your method of presenting the project on a spreadsheet is clear and concise.

Our subcontractors were pleasant to work with and were proud of the quality of their work. The workplace was kept clean and safe. You are joy to work with; you are knowledgeable, upbeat and cheerful. You keep the project moving, all problems were quickly resolved and work was done in a timely manner.

Our son moved into his house September 1. It looks beautiful and functional We are looking forward to he and his roommates enjoying living there. Thank you.
